blessings and peace be upon Muhammad, seal of the prophets and messengers. On
behalf of the staff members of Management Information Systems Department, it is
my pleasure and honor to take this great opportunity to welcome you all to our
department website and strongly encourage you to go through in order to learn
more about us; I am certain that wherever you are originally from, you would
find a warm welcome in a vibrant community.
Undoubtedly, the integration of Information
Technology throughout all aspects of business coupled with the critical need for
responsive Information Systems has created a strong demand for graduates with
expertise in both Information Systems and Business Administration. Therefore,
the main objective of our undergraduate program is to enable our students
realize the role of technology in creating business opportunities, and to
acquire the skills necessary for the functional management of the tasks needed
in order to secure those opportunities. In fact, digital assets of a modern
business environment involve not only technology but also the IT-enabled
processes governing business activities as well as the associated information /
knowledge acquisition, processing, synthesis, management, and transfer
processes. Accordingly, our undergraduate program is designed to prepare our
students plan, design, use, and manage digital assets of an organization. This
program strongly prepares the students to make better decisions by applying ITs
to solve business problems and transform enterprise operations, and to innovate
and manage business processes in different functional areas through the best use
of the technological infrastructure of an organization.
The Management Information Systems (MIS) degree in
our department focuses on the business applications of IT; this includes
emphasizing necessary skills required in the analysis, development, evaluation,
implementation, and maintenance of various information and communication
technologies critical for today’s internet-enabled organizations. Our program is
delivered by our highly qualified and exceptional faculty members; I am fully
confident that the students will be stunned by the distinction of our program,
the quality of our class rooms and seminar hall, the ethnicity of our campus and
organized educational environment. I would also like to take this opportunity to
convey my sincere thanks and appreciation to all who have contributed to our
program.
